Sweet and Sour Prawn


  1. Big full size prawn with head on
  2. Turmeric
  3. Small size cinnamon sticks and 3 pods of green cardamom
  4. Chopped small onion
  5. 3 cloves of grated garlic
  6. 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
  7. 1 small size diced tomato
  8. Sweet yogurt
  9. Garam masla
  10. Some chopped cilantro
  11. Green chillies
  12. Liquid tamarind
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Enough oil for cooking
  15. 1/2 teaspoon ghee


First marinate prawns with turmeric and salt and fry them in hot oil until it becomes pink…

Chopped onion, grated garlic and ginger
Sweet yogurt
Mix 1/2 teaspoon garam masala in 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of sweet yogurt

First splatter cardamom and cinamom in the prawn fried oil…Now fry the onion in the oil until it becomes little brownish… Add ginger and garlic and fry them until it becomes little brownish…

Add tomatoes and cilantro and cook it until tomato gets cooked properly…

Now add the mixture of yogurt and garam masala and cook it until oil separates from the side…. Add little, like 1 tablespoon of liquid tarmarind it, add salt as per taste, also add 1 cup of hot water in it too… when water starts boiling add prawns in it…

Now cook it until you get the right consistency you want… Then add 1/2 teaspoon of ghee and cover the lid for 5mins… Serve it with paratha/roti or steamed hot rice…
